The Noise

I don't know who "they" are, or why they were laughing at Noah when he was only trying to build a boat to save all the creatures of the earth, but what I do know is that I really like this new record from the Kevin MacDonald Band. This album, their follow-up to the album "where am i...and where are my glasses?" (another question I can't answer)is a little more stripped down, but punchier and musically stronger than the first. Kevin's songs are fresh and concise. Musically, they remind me of Dennis Brennan cross-pollinated with Up, Buttercup and Jason Faulkner. This album is great to listen to during a long drive through the countryside on a lazy afternoon. Maybe they were all laughing at Noah because he hadn't listened to this record. Don't be laughed at- check out this disc!

This raging power trio is more melodic than Green Day but not as progressive as Rush. They execute tight up-tempo songs with flawless ability, mixing blazing drums, soaring base lines and torrid power chords. The radio-friendly song "Contact" and the highly original "Complex Christ" are real standouts and show off the bands simply sophisticated style.
